Is your young dog jumping up on guests, barking at the mailman, mouthing, chewing your furniture, pulling on lead, ignoring recall, etc.? Maybe these things are cute or tolerable while they’re small, but they certainly won’t be cute when they’re a full-grown dog still practicing these bad habits.

Stop waiting for them to grow out of it. It simply isn’t going to happen.

The more opportunities a dog has to express a behaviour, the more likely they are to continue to express that behaviour.

So as our dogs progress from puppyhood through adolescence into adulthood, habits only become more ingrained. The longer you wait to address them, the worse it’ll get.

If you want their behaviour to change as they grow, that change has to come from you. Start training alternative behaviours and showing your dog with clear communication what is expected of them.
